POSTPONED...AGAIN??

Right now I should be preparing and getting my mind right for the State Meet, but due to some inclement weather, the meet has been postponed until next Saturday. I am really getting fed up with all the snow that has been falling lately. Its not good for training and really puts a stop to most track meets, especially around here. I'm looking out side right now and really feel like we could have had the state meet today, but that's not my decision. Just more time to rest. Now with meet next week end, I wonder whats going to happen cause many people have made plans to go other track meets like the Simplot Games, Kentucky High School Invite. With travel plans in place, what meet do you attend? All I know is that I'm going to be ready to run the next time I hit the track.

Making The Best Of It!

This indoor season has been a waste for many athletes. Lack of track meets, cancellations and inclement weather have also made this indoor season one to forget. Many athletes have not had enough time to accomplish anything. This weekend is the North Carolina 4-A State Meet. Due to the way this indoor season has been so far, there are a number of athletes that would have qualified that have not. This just goes to show that this season has been rough so far. I feel a really strong outdoor season across the nation.

As for me, I'm going to make the best of the state meet. I need to salvage something from this indoor season before I go to Nationals. I'm going to lay it all on the line when I get into the blocks Saturday. I have not ran the hurdles since January 16, all this down time has done me some good. I was able to get some good training in and the rest has allowed me to internalize and think about what I have to do. I am ready to roll in the hurdles. I also have to run the 500 meter dash, I'm looking to go about 1:06.00 in that event. I have changed up my training and I am feeling better. I just have to go out and put it on the track. It's all mental for me, I just have to stop thinking. Its my senior year, I need o go out with a bang. My first couple of hurdle races did not go as planned, but I feel this time off has done me some good. I'm just looking toward the future now and running as fast as I can.

I'm a Demon Deacon!!

It's been awhile since I last blogged, I have been busy with school and track practice. I was also preoccupied with the recruiting process. It was a long process but I have made my decision. There were a few schools I was looking at like UNC, NC State, Wake Forest, Tennessee and Virginia. These were all good schools, but I decided to go to Wake Forest University on a full athletic scholarship. It was the best choice for after I discussed everything with my family. I will be close to home and I will be receiving one of the best educations in the Nation. Wake Forest has a strong track program. Michael Bingham, 400 runner who competed in the 2009 World Championships, competed for Wake Forest. I wish he was still there next there when I arrive, he would've been a great training partner. I am just glad this recruiting process is over. It is a fun process but can be stressful at times. I know I made the right decision and I am looking to do big things in college.
